Who We Are
Brian Kennedy II is a native North Carolinian by way of Virginia, and a former educator. He researches and writes on poverty alleviation, the social safety net, and inequality. He loves reparations, Black folk, and bourbon.
Brian holds a Master’s of Public Policy from Brandeis University and two bachelor’s degrees in History and Political Science from North Carolina Central University.
Marion Johnson is a first-generation American, full-time pop culture nerd, and part-time political nerd. She spends her days as a policy consultant for foundations and non-profits who need help with their equity work.
Marion holds a Master’s of Public Policy from Duke University, an honors bachelor’s degree in English from Wellesley College, and passports from three countries.
